My African Adventure

5 Days left :(

Wow! What an adventure it had been! I cannot believe I only have 5 days left in this amazing country. God has taught me so many things and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything!
We are just ending our holiday bible clubs, we traveled to 5 different churchs and did a Vacation Bible School at each, but with an emphasis on missions. I was stretched as I had to teach the lessons about the unreligious! I think I need some more practice in the teaching department :) But it was really fun singing songs and meeting lots of kids. Wednesday we travel to Pilansburg for camping at a game part for a couple of days! Then Saturday I leave! Thanks to everyone for praying for me!
I cannot wait to share all of my pictures and stories with you :)

MOZ!!

Adventure to Mozambique! We traveled there for about 5 days, it was the best experience! We stayed in an African village for 2 nights, and in the capital, Maputo for 2 nights. The village definetly made me thankful for everything I do have...like showers for example. They take baths using a small bucket of water, so I did it as well :) They served us fish one night...with the fish heads too of course! We also showed the Jesus film to them at night, it was hard to know and see their reaction because they all speak a different language, we had 2 translators, but its still hard to communicate.
After the village we attended another church which James spoke at, Africans are very lively at their services, so there is lots of dancing and singing! We then stayed in the capital, Maputo, for 2 nights, also an awesome experience! Trying to stay away from the Mosquitos was a challege, I managed to get 5 bites, so I'm just trusting God that I dont have mylaria!! :)
On Sunday morning we went to the church there for 4 hours! The longest church service I have ever been too! But it was good, God is working in all these different churches and it was so great to be a part of it.
I only have about 2 weeks left! :( But we are working really hard on the Kids Mission Festival which starts on Saturday!

22 degrees!

It's 22 degrees! Celcius that is...but 71 degrees fahrenheit! It was absolutely beautiful today.

Sunday was also an awesome day...we had 40 little preschoolers at the Embree household from Slovo. They had tons of fun playing on the jumping castle, trampoline, swings, doing a craft and listening to a story! It is so fun to play with those kids, they are always so happy.

We are busy planning for the Kids Mission Festival, happening in a few weeks, I have to try and teach to a group of kids! :)

James, Ella, Jess and I are leaving for Mozambique on Thursday until Monday, we started taking mylaria medicine on Friday, and have to continue for another 6 weeks. Jess and I are trying to come up with all the ways to NOT get bitten while we are there :) It will be hotter there than it is in Jo Burg, but we are going to cover every part of our skin and lather up on bug dope! We get to show the Jesus film to a group of pastors there, some of which have never even seen a movie before, so it should be a fun adventure!

I am so sorry it has taken me a long time to write! I have been so busy here...Monday is my day off, but today I got to homeschool the Embree kids, it was a lot of fun! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays I work at the college that James teaches at. They have tons of new books and right now I am inputing them into their computer system.

Ella is putting a Children's Mission Festival, so we are preparing for that. It is like a Vacation Bible School, we will travel to 5 different churches and for 2 days each, we will teach them!

It is their winter here, so it is fairly cold, most of the houses aren't heated, so it has been something to get used to. I room with another girl on a short term mission here, Jessica Case, it has been such a blessing staying with her and getting to know her.

After 26 hours of traveling, I am finally in Africa :)
Not long after being here, I already got to meet about 40 little African kids! They are so full of love and it is so easy to love them back. I cannot wait to keep getting to know them, tomorrow is my day off which will be nice, and then I start "work" on Tuesday. I will write again as soon as I can! I miss everyone lots..
